Community Drug Alert - Increase in Drug Poisonings - Ketamine detected in 2 recently tested fentanyl samples.

The Overdose Monitoring Alert and Response System (OMARS) is issuing an Overdose Alert for Waterloo Region.

There has been an increased number of overdoses/drug poisonings (44 reported cases) from November 7th to November 14th, along with 2 suspected deaths.

The Drug Checking Program at the Kitchener CTS recently detected 2 fentanyl samples containing ketamine.
